When one door closes, another opens

“When one door closes, another opens: but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.”

— Alexander Graham Bell

I love the quote. The first part is used so often, it’s become cliche, but I don’t care – it’s overused because it’s so true. This blog began as a journal of my journey into yoga and I don’t know about you, but I’m convinced of one incredible truth – yoga will change your life (if you let it).

Let me clarify here; asana practice alone will not necessarily turn your world on it’s head (although it will at least turn you on yours)! But the deeper practice of yoga – the path of the yogi – that will change your life forever. You will be tested. You will be supported. You will be moved. You will be blessed.

At each twist and turn in these recent years, the lessons of yoga have served to guide me. Where there is tension, breathe compassion. Where there is fear, breathe faith. Where there is doubt, breathe joy. Where there is anger, breathe love. Learning to direct the subtle energies of the body brings an incredible power into your life; a power that is much bigger than you.

Today I am one small step further down the journey of my life. The first chapter is now closed and chapter two is already galloping ahead! The months ahead will include some incredible joys that I can’t wait to share with everyone, but as any good yogi knows – karma awaits, so we must prepare!

So, it’s onwards and upwards with lots of practice, practice practice!

Namaste!
